Job description

Equipment Maintenance Technician

Catalent's Chelsea, Massachusetts site-often referred to as the Boston location-is a global Center of Excellence for spray dry dispersion (SDD) and dry powder inhaler (DPI) capsule manufacturing and packaging, supporting inhalation drug products from clinical development through commercial launch. Located at 190 Everett Avenue, the approximately 96,000squarefoot GMP facility features ISO 8 production suites, highpotency containment capabilities, and advanced spray drying equipment, including multiple largescale GMP spray dryers. The site offers integrated services such as powder processing, capsule filling, blister packaging, and onsite quality control and analytical testing, with capacity to produce up to 100 million capsules annually. Strategically positioned just minutes from Boston Logan International Airport and within the Greater Boston life sciences hub, the Chelsea site plays a critical role in Catalent's global inhalation network and regulatorycompliant manufacturing operations.

We have an opportunity for an Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide maintenance and technical support for the service and repair of production and ancillary equipment at the Chelsea, MA facility. You will support spray drying and downstream operations by delivering quality, compliant, and timely equipment service to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance. You will also provide technical assistance to operators to keep operations running smoothly.

Shift: Saturday - Wednesday, 2:00pm-10:30pm
Location: Chelsea, MA
100% Onsite

The Role

  • Provide support for validation, calibration, and preventative maintenance of all GMP equipment and systems
  • Diagnose and repair electronic, pneumatic, and control system issues on GMP equipment; Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on GMP and non-GMP equipment
  • Execute equipment-related work orders in support of Operations
  • Manage and order equipment spare parts inventory
  • Troubleshoot problems during equipment set-up and change-over
  • Assist in design and implementation of engineering controls; Assist process engineers as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

The Candidate

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) is required
  • A minimum of 3 years of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) experience is required
  • Must have basic to moderate computer skills, including e-mail, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer, and preventative maintenance software
  • Lifting up to 40 lbs. is required
  • Experience in service and repair of electrical equipment and systems; Experience in service and repair of mechanical equipment and systems is preferred
  • Understanding of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems is preferred

Pay

The anticipated hourly rate for this position in MA is $33.65 - $40.87 Plus Bonus. The final hourly rate offered to a successful candidate may vary, and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc. Catalent is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
