Job Title: Device Technician

Job Description

As a Device Technician, you support the installation and implementation of plasma collection devices across multiple centers. You serve as an onsite technical resource during device installations and provide post-implementation support to help ensure smooth operations with minimal disruption. In this hands-on role, you prepare equipment, support installation activities, troubleshoot technical issues, validate device readiness, and assist center personnel throughout the installation process. You collaborate closely with project teams, vendors, and center staff in a regulated healthcare environment and travel extensively to various locations. This position focuses on installation and implementation support and does not include ongoing preventive maintenance programs or long-term device management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support installation activities for plasma collection devices at assigned centers, including equipment preparation, setup, installation verification, and operational readiness tasks.
  • Coordinate with vendors, project team members, and center staff to ensure devices are installed, configured, and fully operational in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Perform installation verification, operational qualification activities, functional testing, and device readiness checks to confirm successful center readiness.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues encountered during installation activities and escalate technical concerns to appropriate support resources when necessary.
  • Provide onsite technical support during implementation, stabilization, and immediate post-installation periods to help maintain center operations and business continuity.
  • Document installation activities, results, troubleshooting efforts, and equipment status in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate records for assigned projects.
  • Communicate project status, risks, issues, and opportunities to project leadership in a clear and timely manner.
  • Assist with equipment logistics, including device preparation, inventory verification, packing, shipping, storage, and vendor return processes.
  • Provide basic operational guidance and technical instruction to center personnel on deployed equipment and approved operating procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, quality requirements, regulatory expectations, and applicable standard operating procedures.
  • Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a technical support, equipment installation, field service, healthcare, medical device, manufacturing, or related environment.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting technical equipment and resolving operational issues.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude for working with equipment and devices.
  • Ability to accurately document technical activities and maintain detailed records in accordance with procedures and quality requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with project teams, vendors, and center staff.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues during installation and startup activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, and other standard business software tools.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Boca Raton, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
