The Opportunity
Converting Technician

Sets up and operates converting packaging equipment to assemble packaging products for disposable medical device packaging markets by performing the following duties.
Shift 1st/2nd/3rd
1st shift-6a.m.-2p.m.
2nd shift-2p.m.-10p.m.
3rd shift 10p.m.-6a.m.
What You'll Work On
-Set up and operate converting equipment by following established work procedures and instructions
-Read and understand converting customer specifications
-Mount plate, dies and secure assemblies in bed of machine
-Install and align all relevant auxiliary equipment (punches, secondary dies, edge guides, eye block readers)
-Clean dies and return to storage area
-Check sample of finish product from the end of the machine and inspect for imperfections.
-Perform required specification checks per relevant documentation.
-Meet and/or exceed productivity and quality requirements
-Complete daily and weekly production and labor reporting paperwork.
-Perform all necessary 5S and housekeeping duties, as defined by the team leader, to maintain safe and organized work area.
-Deliver presentations to individuals or groups on medical packaging products or the converting making process.
-Conducts/participates in 5S and safety audits, implements corrective actions and inspects product.
Individual should:
-Reads and follows detailed instructions.
-High degree of attention to detail.
-Possesses basic mathematical aptitude.
-Accurately reads measuring rule.
-Possesses effective communication skills.
Physical Requirements:-May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties.
-Must be able to work safely with materials and equipment.
-The ability to read and understand documents and drawings.
-The ability to follow directions or instruction.
-The ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions:
-Works in controlled Manufacturing environment.
-Hearing protection recommended.
-Hair, beard nets and smocks required.
-Exposure to manufacturing and printing equipment (moving parts, cutters, etc.).
-Exposure to materials and handling equipment.
-Exposure to odors associated with manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
-High school diploma or trade school certification, specialized training/apprenticeship and/or equivalent in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or other equivalent
-Minimum of 1 year of related experience in fabricating machine operations required or related machinery in related business
-Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
-Ability to work with assemblers and other non-technical personnel
-Ability to teach and coach others
-Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams
-Adept at handling multiple assignments in a timely manner to meet assigned deadlines
-Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work under limited supervision
Preferred Qualifications
-0-3 years of manufacturing technician experience preferred, but not required
-Medical device experience preferred, but not required
-Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and basic Excel use for data analysis
