Responsibilities

As a Concrete QA Manager, your key responsibility will be to help create, plan, manage, and enforce our Quality Assurance Program for the Company, in particular, the Concrete Division. This role will focus heavily on the inspection, testing, and documentation of concrete and reinforcing steel work to ensure the project meets or exceeds Wilhelmโ€™s standards, contract requirements, and applicable codes.

  • Manage and enforce QA/QC requirements for concrete and reinforcing steel activities.
  • Inspect concrete placement, reinforcing steel, formwork, embeds, anchor bolts, curing, finishing, and other structural components for compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Review construction documents, submittals, testing reports, and inspection records; identify, document, track, and assist in resolving nonconforming work.
  • Coordinate quality activities with project leadership, field teams, subcontractors, testing agencies, inspectors, and clients.
  • Participate in preconstruction meetings, scope reviews, and quality planning while providing technical support related to construction methods, codes, inspections, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate QA/QC reports, inspection logs, testing records, and supporting documentation while promoting consistent quality and jobsite safety expectations.

What it takes

  • Minimum of 5 years of concrete-specific construction and inspection experienceย 
  • Minimum OSHA 10-Hour Certification
  • ACI Grade I Concrete Field Testing Technician, ACI Concrete Flatwork Finishing, ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector certification, or equivalent education and training preferred
  • CWI certification is helpful but not required
  • Strong knowledge of concrete construction, reinforcing steel installation, inspection procedures, and testing requirements
  • Microsoft Applications โ€“ intermediate to advanced knowledge
  • Viewpoint - intermediate knowledge
  • Bluebeam - intermediate knowledge
