Job Description Summary:
  • Responsible for ensuring all services are assigned with the correct CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes and are billed and processed in accordance with government and third-party payer guidelines in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of all facets of role, relevant regulations, and organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Performs all duties in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
Position Qualifications/Requirements
  • Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Certifications/Licenses:
  • CPC, CPC-A, CCS, or CCS-P required or must obtain one of these coding certifications with in one year from date of hire.
  • Previous Experience:
  • Proficient knowledge with the application of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding.
  • Minimum of one year of professional fee coding experience in medical oncology coding, radiation oncology coding, or multispecialty coding preferred.
  • Experience with navigation of EMR and practice management software required (Centricity and OncoEMR preferred)
  • Previous billing and collections experience with government and third-party payers preferred.
  • Core Capabilities:
