Job description

Position Summary:
The Construction Site Superintendent plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Responsibilities Other duties as assigned.
  • Will support Project from kick-off to Completion
  • Responsible for site Quality Control and Safety management
  • Enforce Project-Specific Safety Plan and ensure compliance with OSHA safety policies.
  • Ensures proper Material Management
  • Review and approve SOW and pricing
  • Manages subcontractors, vendors, and assigned staff
  • Attends all project meetings on site and is on-site “face” of FSI
  • Must represent Him/Herself well in all on-site situations
  • Must be reliable and dependable, self-starters who can work on their own
  • Maintain schedules, critical paths, and budgets for each construction project Coordinates budget and expenses with Project Manager
  • Provide timely status reports to Project Managers and others as required
  • Have a thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of the contract, each subcontract and the plans and specifications in order to assist project manager in development of the on-site procedures.
  • Creates and implements inspection criteria and procedures.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Perform quality control testing and inspection in adherence with contract requirements and company best practices.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modified schedules or plans as required.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or four to ten years related quality control experience and/or training.
  • 5+ years of general construction site supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of Building Codes and requirements
  • Knowledge of wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to run the site efficiently and effectively
  • Enforce Project-Specific Safety Plan and ensure compliance with OSHA safety policies.
  • Maintain schedules, critical paths, and budgets for each construction project.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Industry knowledge and ability to read blueprints
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and highly organized, with strong time management skills
  • Comfortable communicating with anyone, from foremen to senior-level managers
  • Delivering strategic solutions for clients
  • Overall knowledge of design, estimating, quality control, construction, and operations
  • Preconstruction activities including estimate preparation and subcontractor solicitations
  • Attend job meetings including preconstruction, project, and staff meetings and Report project status and performance data to owner and team members
  • Advanced MS Word skills amp; proficient in MS Office
  • Strong written English language skills.
Qualification / Certifications required for Superintendent position
  • Minimum of 5 years’ general experience in construction management for medical facilities.
  • American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) Healthcare Construction Certificate (HCC). This can be scheduled after employment.
  • Current USACE Construction Quality Certificate is not required but preferred.
  • Current OSHA 30hr is not required but preferred.
  • Current CPR FA AED certificate is not required but preferred.
  • Valid Driver License and insurable driving record required.
  • Must be able to pass a company drug screen and background check.
