Job description

Principal Agency Insurance Associate – Capital One – Charlotte, NC

The Principal Agency Insurance Associate will be responsible for monitoring insurance and related documents and making insurance disbursements for the Agency Finance portfolio of loans that are underwritten through Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Ginnie Mae (Government‑Sponsored Enterprises or GSEs). This individual will also provide information to both internal stakeholders (other LOBs) and external stakeholders (borrowers, insurance agents, third party providers, and the GSEs). Additionally, they will identify, research, solve and/or respond to requests, inquiries and problematic situations in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • Follow-up with insurance agents and borrowers to obtain current proof of insurance
  • Review insurance documentation to ensure adherence to GSE insurance requirements
  • Perform follow-up on outstanding documents and exceptions to bring coverage into compliance
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes to increase control and efficiency
  • Perform analysis of blanket insurance policies and large borrower programs
  • Review full insurance policies ?
  • Draft and submit waivers to investors and master servicers
  • Assist with the oversight of insurance monitoring and vendors
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 3 years of experience working in loan operations
  • At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial or small business banking operations
  • 3+ years of experience with Government‑Sponsored Enterprise (GSEs) backed multifamily loans
  • 3+ years of experience processing insurance disbursements
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs)

This role is hybrid meaning associates typically spend about half their time (2-3 days per week) in‑person at one of our offices listed on this job posting.
