Medical Laboratory Scientist / Technician - Nights Shift
Schedule
This position is a night shift role, working from 2100 to 0730, with a schedule of 7 on and 7 off, including every other weekend.
Job Description
The laboratory teams have responsibilities for testing samples that may include blood, body fluids, and tissue to aid in diagnosis of diseases, illnesses, or conditions that may need medical attention. Lab tests are processed for hospital inpatients and emergency room patients twenty-four hours a day. Additionally, testing is performed on outpatient and clinic specimens. All labs are licensed and accredited according to regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests on a variety of samples, including blood and body fluids.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and regulations.
  • Utilize the Epic electronic health record system for patient management.
  • Conduct Emergency blood banking and Antibody IDs.
  • Operate the Ortho Vitros 5600, ensuring accurate results.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Experience with Epic, Antibody IDs, and Emergency blood banking.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from ASCP, AMT, or equivalent upon submission.
