Job Description
Medical Laboratory Scientist / Technician - Night Shift
Job Description
The laboratory teams have responsibilities for testing samples that may include blood, body fluids, and tissue to aid in the diagnosis of diseases, illnesses, or conditions requiring medical attention. Lab tests are processed for hospital inpatients and emergency room patients 24 hours a day. In addition, testing is performed on outpatient and clinic specimens. All labs are licensed by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and accredited by the College of American Pathologists.
Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests on various samples for accurate diagnosis.
  • Document results and maintain accurate records per regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in emergency blood banking and antibody identification.
  • Utilize laboratory equipment, including the Ortho Vitros 5600.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to communicate findings.
Schedule
This is a night shift position from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM, rotating weekends.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) required.
  • Experience with Epic and Antibody IDs is essential.
  • Prior experience in emergency blood banking is required.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
