Physical Therapist Assistant (Tuscola)

Job Description

Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA) perform physical therapy procedures and related tasks that have been selected and delegated only by a supervising physical therapist (PT). The PTA uses their knowledge and skills to help the physical therapist provide selected interventions as described in the patient's plan of care. The PTA uses their clinical problem solving skills to ensure patient/client safety and comfort, as well as completion of interventions selected to achieve the patient's desired outcomes and goals. PTA's demonstrate effective communication and strong interpersonal skills to motivate patients and provide compassionate care.

Department: Physical Therapy

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours a week required

Location: Tuscola

Required: AS degree, Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) and BLS within 90 days of hire.

Pay: Based on experience, starting at $23.87 an hour

Responsibilities

Adheres to the APTA code of ethics., Appropriately carries out treatment as directed by supervising physical therapist. Able to provide a variety of treatment approaches utilizing appropriate manual techniques and available equipment and/ or modalities., Appropriately modifies treatment in response to patient progress and keeps the PT informed of changes in status and overall progress., Assists other facility staff members as needed to provide care and create a clean, orderly and effective environment for rehabilitation and physical therapy., Documents patient progress according to approved medical documentation and facility documentation procedures to best describe client progress toward established goals., Functions independently within the scope of the PTA Practice Act., If License Pending - must pass PTA Exam after 3rd attempt., Maintain patient records, ensuring that Certifications and Authorizations are in compliance with third party payer requirements., Maintains and consistently demonstrates competency in all areas of assigned client care needs and seeks out additional information, in-service or other educational opportunities to remain competent and current in practice., Provides individualized patient and caregiver education
