What you’ll be working on…  

  • Accurately reads and records meter consumption
  • Processes disconnection of service for non-payments
  • Collects overdue payments
  • Follows appropriate steps in turning on/off of gas service
  • Performs periodic Class I and II meter changes
  • Checks performing fuel line pressure tests, pipe Class I and II meter sets and tie-in customer fuel lines
  • Checks customer equipment for code compliance, safe operation and installation
  • Knowledgeable and understanding of customer needs, concerns and expectations
  • Investigates leak complaints and make situation safe or take appropriate action to make situation safe
  • Properly uses and maintains gas detection equipment
  • Ensures all orders are completed legibly, fully and accurately
  • Investigates high and low bill complaints
  • Knowledgeable of, supports, promotes and participates in the company's CHOICE Program
  • Delivers personal contact notification during winter months
  • Installs remote read devices on meters
  • Understands PSC policies on termination of service and theft of service
  • Recognizes potential hazardous situations
  • Checks for proper meter and regulator function
  • Demonstrates knowledge of NFPA 54 code, state and local codes and regulations
  • Maintains company vehicle, tools and equipment
