Job description

Medical Business Office Coordinator

Gastro One, located in Germantown, TN, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Business Office Coordinator to support the daily operations of our business office. This position is responsible for revenue cycle management, billing oversight, patient scheduling support, and front office operations while ensuring exceptional patient service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage billing, claims submission, denials, appeals, and insurance follow-up activities.
  • Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and ensure accurate payment posting and reimbursement.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and assist with revenue cycle performance improvement.
  • Support patient scheduling, registration, and insurance verification processes.
  • Assist with front desk operations, including patient check-in, check-out, and customer service.
  • Maintain accurate financial and patient records and prepare operational reports as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, payer requirements, and healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborate with providers, staff, patients, and insurance companies to resolve issues and improve workflows.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of medical business office and revenue cycle experience.
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding, insurance reimbursement, and revenue cycle processes.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting EOBs.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with EMR/practice management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated longevity and stability in previous employment.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
  • CPC or RHIA certification.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
