PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR / OPTOMETRIC ASSISTANT
STAR VISION EYE CARE
Middletown, Delaware
PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR / OPTOMETRIC ASSISTANT
Full-Time (36 Hours per Week)
Compensation: $17–$25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Star Vision Eye Care is a growing private optometry practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and technology-friendly team member to join our practice.
This position combines patient care, front desk coordination, insurance verification, and optical responsibilities. Prior optometry experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
Schedule

Tuesday – Thursday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Support
 • Welcome patients and assist throughout their visit
 • Perform pre-testing using modern diagnostic equipment
 • Enter and maintain accurate patient information in electronic health records (EHR)
 • Assist with patient flow and exam preparation
 • Ensure accurate documentation and data entry
Front Desk & Administrative Duties
• Schedule appointments and manage patient communications
• Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations
• Maintain organized patient records
• Process billing and administrative tasks
• Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including Excel
Optical Responsibilities
• Assist patients with frame and lens selections
• Take eyeglass measurements
• Educate patients regarding lens options and enhancements
• Process and track eyewear and contact lens orders
• Verify finished eyewear and assist with adjustments when needed
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in healthcare, medical office, dental office, retail, or customer service environments
• Experience with electronic health record systems
• Optical or optometric experience
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
