Medical Technologist Schedule: FT- Monday - Friday: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Medical Technologist Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performs venipuncture, nasal, nasopharyngeal and throat swabs.
  • Performs routine chemical, hematologic and other general laboratory test procedures.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of laboratory techniques.
  • Collects, processes and stores specimens.
  • Operates and maintains clinical laboratory equipment.
  • Performs and reviews quality controls.
  • Must be able to identify and appropriately address problems adversely affecting test results.
  • Follows all policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to maintain accurate records, follow oral and written instructions, and communicate effectively with various personnel and staff.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily operate, maintain and troubleshoot a variety of laboratory equipment.
  • Performs duties on site with consistent, regular, and reliable attendance.
  • Must be able to use laboratory and clinic computer systems appropriately to accomplish assigned work.

Requirements
The ideal Medical Technologist candidate will possess:
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science or a related science field.
  • Certification by one of the following: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT)- Department of Health Services (HHS) formally (HEW) Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) - American Medical Technologist (AMT)
  • 5+ years of related medical technology experience.
  • Ability to use education, experience and analytical judgement to perform testing in a prompt efficient and accurate manner
  • Generalist with Chemistry experience a plus.
  • Perform basic computer skills with general knowledge and understanding of laboratory test ordering and resulting processes.
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills
  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance
