Job description

Southwest Medical Associates is looking for a BC/BE physician with ER experience to join us on a supplemental basis in Gatesville, TX. Located about 35 miles west of Waco, this hospital serves a rural community and provides top quality care for a diverse population. 

  • Level IV Trauma Center
  • 6 ER Beds
  • Coverage: As Needed
  • Staff Physicians: 5-FP, 5-GS, 2 Ortho
  • Requires: ATLS, ACLS & PALS
  • Patient Volume: 580 month
  • 5% Trauma, 15% Pediatrics, 60% Geriatrics
  • Transfer OB if possible, notify on-call doc of any transfer; do H&P, no extra pay for H&P codes & emergency in-house coverage only; on-call doc introduces new SWM doc to facility
  • Back-up doctor available if needed during day shifts
  • Lab/X-Ray Available 24/7
  • Referral Centers: Scott & White in Temple & Providence; Hillcrest Waco
