Job description

In Home Wellcare, a licensed home care agency in Providence, Rhode Island, is seeking a Registered Nurse to serve as Program Coordinator for our CNA training program, in accordance with Rhode Island Department of Health requirements for nursing assistant training programs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the CNA training program
  • Coordinate classroom instruction and supervised practical training
  • Ensure the curriculum and program delivery meet Rhode Island Department of Health requirements
  • Supervise and evaluate instructors and trainees
  • Maintain program records and documentation

Requirements (all four are required by the RI Department of Health)

  1. Active, unrestricted Rhode Island RN license
  2. A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience at the RN or LPN level
  3. At least 1 of those years in a long-term care setting (skilled nursing facility). Hospital or acute care experience alone does not satisfy this requirement, and time worked as a CNA does not count.
  4. Experience teaching or supervising staff, such as training or supervising CNAs

Spanish language ability a plus but not required.
