Medical Assistant

Position Summary
The Medical Assistant supports healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care in a clinical setting. This role assists with both administrative and clinical tasks to ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and a positive patient experience. The Medical Assistant works closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to support daily operations of the medical practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for examinations, including taking vital signs, recording medical history, and updating patient records
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures
  • Perform basic clinical tasks such as administering injections, collecting specimens, and conducting routine tests as permitted by scope of practice
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) documentation
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow within the clinic
  • Provide patient education regarding procedures, medications, and follow-up care as directed by clinical staff
  • Clean, sterilize, and prepare exam rooms and medical equipment
  • Coordinate laboratory services, including specimen collection and processing
  • Support front office operations such as check-in/check-out, insurance verification, and data entry as needed
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements (HIPAA)
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and administrative staff
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of clinical supplies

Qualifications
