Job description

Toledo Clinic's Cardiology Department is seeking a full-time Credentialed Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA/CCMA) to work M-F, 8-5.


Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. Sign-On Bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT/A). For candidates that have not yet obtained or need to renew their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants will be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.


General Summary:

Works collaboratively with the provider to room patients in a timely manner.

Proficient in chart prepping prior to the patient’s arrival.

Easily navigate electronic medical record.

Ability to perform EKGs.

Assist patients over the phone and performs various clerical duties.

Works under the supervision of the Office Manager.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:


Example of Essential Duties:


1. Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).

2. At the request of the physician, sending in prescription refills.

3. Follow up with lab work and/or xrays.

4. Handle physician schedules.

5. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Required:

- Excellent interpersonal skills required.

- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.

- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.

- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.

- Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA or RMA)

- Medicare Exclusion List

- Adheres to clinic’s policies and procedures.

Education:

-Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school required.

Preferred:

- Clinical medical assisting experience preferred.
