We are Looking for:
Someone who is an experienced Medical Assistant for a multispecialty medical practice. The medical assistant should perform a supportive role in delivering comprehensive care to the patient that is safe, effective, and efficient.
Responsibilities:
  • Rooming the patient
  • Interview/update patient's chief complaint, medical history, medication list, and take vitals.
  • Prepares patient charts a week in advance and verifies benefits reports.
  • Prepares patient charts a week in advance.
  • Scanning documents to appropriate patient charts.
  • Makes sure all rooms are stocked and clean before clinic, after each patient, and at the end of the day.
  • Refill patient medications as directed by a physician and obtain Pre-Authorization/Determination for medications.
  • Ensures that physician is in-network and authorized/up-to-date referral is in the patient's chart.
  • Assist the physician in the exam room with any wound care and/or procedures.
  • Follow up on calls/voicemails and document phone log/conversation
  • Educates and informs the patient of any DI, labs, referrals, and procedures physicians might have ordered.
  • Schedules patients for upcoming appointments after the physician sees the patient.
  • Obtains authorization prior to sending any orders when needed.
  • Main fax line- Distribute faxes to appropriate team member(s)
  • Performs related duties as required.

Requirements
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
  • Two years+ of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred
