Job Description
The Medical Assistant (MA) will support and facilitate clinic operations by performing clinical, clerical, and technical duties, including patient rooming, documentation during visits, assisting with minor procedures, managing supplies, supporting Telehealth services when applicable, and flexing to administrative support when needed. This role requires strong communication skills, clinical competence, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to ensure an optimal care experience for patients and families. Shriners is looking for a PRN Medical Assistant to support our Redmond Clinic.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Escort patients from waiting room(s) to exam room(s), confirming date of birth and ensuring patients are in the proper attire required for their visit
  • Obtain patient vitals (height, weight, temperature, pulse, BP, etc.), draw blood, and conduct basic medical history (including chief complaint, medication history, social history, and family history)
  • Monitor and report patient condition throughout their visit
  • Ensure infection prevention protocols are followed
  • Conduct Telehealth intake tasks - document vitals, medical history, and encounter details
  • Escort patients to check out and update rooming status in Epic
  • Monitor Epic DAR and communicate with all relevant teams (front desk, radiology, POPs, etc.) to ensure timely rooming and patient handoffs
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other staff
  • Assist in patient education regarding casting care, surgical prep, and discharge instructions
  • Prepare exam rooms daily; stock and maintain supplies and equipment
  • Prepare and manage Telehealth rooms and equipment
  • Accurately input patient data (vitals, medications, allergies, immunizations, and intake notes) into Epic
  • Support follow-up scheduling and direct patients
  • Perform clerical duties including copying, faxing, scanning, and other correspondence handling

Required Qualifications:
  • Medical Assistant Certification
  • Acceptable certifications include, but are not limited to: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA Required in states where certification is mandated by law or regulation. In non-mandated states, certification is preferred but not required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 30-90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year Pediatric/Ambulatory Care
  • EMR Systems
  • Spanish proficiency
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, HIPAA, infection control, and patient safety protocols is preferred

The pay range for this position is $21.97 - $32.95. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
