Job description

The Medical Assistant II (MA) is responsible to the Clinic Manager, Assistant Manager, Nurse Supervisor and/or provider and works under the direct supervision of a licensed medical professional. The Medical Assistant II must be a certified MA and able to perform all tasks of a Medical Assistant I with excellent competency. These tasks include delegated clinical and administrative duties. Collects, records, and reports patient care data, carries out age-specific, direct patient care, performs/assists with general and specialized procedures and treatments per protocol. Provides full range of Medical Assistant assigned duties and support in the clinical ambulatory care setting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • AAMA, NHA, NCCT Certified or AMT Registered Certification required at all times
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Card required at all times

Work experience:
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred

Skills & Competencies:
  • Willingness to train and assist in other clinics as needed
  • Excellent customer service and positive attitude
  • Provide care for the patient's physical and psychosocial well being
  • Work collaboratively within a team setting
  • Maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Adhere to Corporations attendance requirements
  • Perform appropriate point-of-care laboratory studies
  • Handles frequent interruptions and adapts to changes in workload or schedule
  • Willingness to train new staff in clinic workflows

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Required to assist or move patients with appropriate safety technique
  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers
  • Walking or standing for periods of time
  • Lift and carry up to 15 pounds
  • Sit for long periods of time - up to 6 hours per day
  • Effective professional verbal and written communication skills

Compensation
$23.75 - $32.74 DOE
