Job description

Dermatology Practice in need of a Certified Medical Assistant for immediate hire. We are looking for someone who is friendly, professional, compassionate, self motivated, flexible, and a team player.

Job Type: Full-time or Part-time

Preferred experience: Medical Assistant: 1-2 years

Preferred Certifications: Medical Assistant Certification

Medical Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Interview patients to obtain a detailed history and list of medications
  • Assist in the examination and treatment of patients
  • Record details of office visit into patients' electronic medical record
  • Provide patient education resources
  • Draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab
  • Prepare exam rooms for patients
  • Assist with biopsies, surgeries, and cosmetic procedures including set-up, clean-up, patient prep, and documentation in electronic medical record
  • Call patients with lab/path results
  • Phone in or E-prescribe prescriptions and refills
  • Handle prior authorizations in a timely and efficient manner
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with needed supplies; order supplies as needed
  • Perform general housekeeping duties

Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Required; Associate Degree preferred
  • Medical Assistant Certification (CMA/RMA)
  • 1-2ย years' experience as Medical Assistant
  • Excellent communication skills, Adaptability, Multi-Tasking, Customer Service, Telephone Etiquette, Time Management, Organization, Detailed Oriented
