Job description

Job Title: Medical Assistant / Correctional Health Technician (MA/CHT)
Pay Rate: $21/hour
Assignment Type: Contract
Schedule: 3 Night Shifts per Week (3x12-hour shifts)
Location: Phoenix, AZ

Position Overview:

We are seeking dedicated and reliable Medical Assistants / Correctional Health Technicians (MA/CHT) to support healthcare services within a correctional facility setting. This role involves delivering quality patient care under the direct supervision of licensed medical or nursing staff while maintaining professionalism and adherence to established protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of practice
  • Prepare patients for examinations and treatments
  • Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, and chief complaints
  • Administer injections, immunizations, and TB skin tests per protocol
  • Perform venipuncture and assist with laboratory testing
  • Transcribe provider orders and schedule follow-up appointments
  • Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies in exam/procedure rooms
  • Accurately complete documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, scanning, scheduling, and document preparation
  • Utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for daily tasks

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited healthcare training institution (in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes A.R.S. ยง 32-1456(D) or applicable exceptions)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience as a Medical Assistant or CHT
  • AHA BLS
