Job description

Summary
Department of Health & Human Services, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services, Children and Adults Health Programs Group (CAHPG), Division of Enrollment Policy and Operations (DEPO).
As a Medicaid Policy and Data Lead, GS-0101-14, you will provide senior-level technical and analytical leadership for Medicaid and CHIP provision focusing on community engagement requirements and other provisions' impacting state eligiblity operations.

  • Ensuring the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are effectively communicated to the team and integrated into their strategies, goals, objectives, work plans, work products, and services.
  • Providing technical expertise on Medicaid and CHIP eligibility and enrollment, policy development, program operations, and data analysis.
  • Developing documents, implementing new or modified analytic methodologies, and ensuring rigorous quality assurance.

In order to qualify for the GS-14, you must meet the following:
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the basic AND specialized experience requirements as noted below.
Basic Requirement: You must meet one of the items listed below (A, B, or C):
A. Possess a degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position (must provide transcript); OR
B. Possess a combination of education and experience that provided you with the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field (must provide transcript); OR
C. Possess four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field (must be demonstrated in your resume).
AND
Specialized Experience:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
1. Providing technical advice and developing recommendations on Medicaid eligibility and enrollment issues;
2. Developing technical policy guidance to implement Medicaid eligibility and enrollment policies;
3. Coordinating with internal and external partners to develop and implement Medicaid eligibility and enrollment policies; And
4. Leading data-driven policy analysis by interpreting technical data and identifying trends on Medicaid eligibility and enrollment issues.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
