Job description

About MediaRadar
MediaRadar, now including the data and capabilities of Vivvix, powers the mission-critical marketing and sales decisions that drive competitive advantage. Our competitive advertising intelligence platform enables clients to achieve peak performance with always-on data and insights that span the media, creative, and business strategies of five million brands across 30+ media channels. By bringing the advertising past, present, and future into focus, our clients rapidly act on the competitive moves and emerging advertising trends impacting their business.
We are looking for a high-impact Data Engineering Manager to take ownership of our data delivery lifecycle. In this role, you will be driving the end-to-end delivery of complex data projects, managing a distributed team of developers across North America and India.
While this is a leadership role, we value "curious leaders." You aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and get hands-on with the data and systems to truly understand the "how" and "why" behind our pipelines. Your mission is to gain a deep technical and domain-level understanding of our entire ecosystem-from upstream ingestion to downstream client platforms-to ensure seamless, high-quality data delivery.
Requirements
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
  • End-to-End Delivery Management: Take full accountability for the project lifecycle, ensuring ETL solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and meet the high-quality standards required for our millions of daily data points.
  • Team Leadership & Coordination: Manage and mentor a distributed team of developers, providing clear technical direction, resolving blockers, and conducting constructive code reviews.
  • Deep System Integration: Proactively explore and master all systems upstream and downstream of your area. You will be expected to understand how our data interacts with client platforms to ensure smooth end-to-end integration.
  • Operational Excellence: Lead the development of testing frameworks and QA plans to guarantee data integrity across our modern cloud stack (Azure, AWS, Databricks).
  • Continuous Innovation: Constantly seek out better solutions and improved ways of working. Actively participate in Agile environments, optimizing sprint cycles and introducing best practices for CI/CD and system reliability.
  • Domain Mastery: Rapidly learn the nuances of the Advertising and Market Research domain to better translate business needs into robust technical requirements.
What You'll Bring (Qualifications)
  • Experience: 8+ years in data engineering or ETL development, with at least 4-5 years in a lead or management capacity.
  • Technical Foundation: Expert-level understanding of ETL technologies, ideally a deep understanding of SQL Server, Postgres, and the Databricks ecosystem (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Spark SQL) and Python/PySpark.
  • Analytical Rigor: A strong background in SQL and RDBMS, with the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Bonus Points (Nice to Haves)
  • Domain Expertise: Previous experience in Advertising, Media, or Market Research.
  • Infrastructure Knowledge: Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and Azure DevOps pipelines.

Benefits
In addition to career progression, training and development, and an excellent work/life balance, future Radarians can expect a great benefits package that includes:
  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • 401k with Company Match
  • Flexible PTO
  • Commuter Benefits
  • Gym Discounts
  • Summer Fridays
