Job description

Location: GA-Atlanta

Job Title:  Traffic Reporter (Part-Time) - Atlanta Radio

Position Overview

WSB Atlanta Radio is looking for a Part-Time Traffic Reporter/Producer who will write, produce, and broadcast Atlanta traffic reports and information for the WSB Traffic Team on 95.5FM, on digital and social media, occasionally on WSB-TV, and occasionally on CMG Atlanta music stations (B98.5FM, KISS 104.1FM, 97.1 The River FM).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Gather traffic information via phone calls, DOT, traffic cameras, map data, 911 scanners, and social media for distribution with WSB Traffic Team and production on digital and social media
  • Broadcast information in clear, time-friendly reports as part of WSB's Triple Team Traffic coverage or solo traffic shifts on 95.5FM/AM750 WSB, potentially as weekend/off-camera fill-in on WSBTV, and potentially on B98.5FM, KISS 104.1FM, and 97.1 The River
  • Disseminate traffic info on the WSB Triple Team Traffic Alerts App, X (Twitter), the WSBRadio.com Traffic Page, and the WSB Radio App
  • Multi-tasking- both info-gathering/traffic producing and publishing information in the broadcast and digital realms
  • News gathering and collaboration with other Cox Media Group properties on news stories
  • Receive coaching and feedback from station management to achieve station's goals of increasing engagement and customer base both broadcast-wise and digitally and serving the public
  • WSB may request employee to make community service or station-led appearances
  • Schedule: (subject to change) several overnight, evening, weekend shifts per week, 15-20 hours 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Passion and enthusiasm for serving the public and helping the traffic team achieve and surpass its goals to provide the best product and to serve others
  • Perform utmost customer service to parties we serve, we call, who call us, and who work with us
  • Computer skills (iPad, email, internet, social media, push notifications)
  • Ability to produce resume of past applicable experience and demo(s) of past on-air work or recorded traffic reports 
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
