Director of Client ServicesPosition Summary

The Director of Client Services is a senior leadership position responsible for driving the company's growth through strategic business development, marketing, and client relationship management. This role develops and executes business development strategies, leads marketing and branding initiatives, oversees proposal and pursuit activities, and cultivates long-term relationships with clients and industry partners.

As a member of the Management Committee, the Director of Client Services collaborates with executive leadership, operations, and project teams to identify market opportunities, strengthen client engagement, and position the company for sustainable growth. The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with hands-on leadership to support revenue growth, expand market presence, and enhance the company's reputation. This candidate must reside in the greater Atlanta, GA area to be available to visit local clients.

Essential ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Strategic Growth
  • Develop and implement the company's annual business development and marketing strategy aligned with corporate goals.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities across targeted markets and service lines.
  • Research market trends, client needs, and competitive activity to identify emerging opportunities.
  • Develop market penetration strategies and recommend new services, programs, or initiatives that support company growth.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with existing and prospective clients, industry partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Lead both internal and external business development activities to support revenue growth.
Marketing & Brand Management
  • Develop and manage the annual marketing plan and associated budget.
  • Lead corporate branding initiatives to strengthen market recognition and visibility.
  • Oversee marketing communications, digital marketing efforts, website content, and social media strategy.
  • Ensure consistency of the company's brand across all marketing and client-facing materials.
  • Coordinate participation in conferences, trade shows, professional organizations, and networking events.
Proposal & Pursuit Management
  • Direct the planning, coordination, and production of proposals, qualifications packages, presentations, and interview materials.
  • Establish proposal schedules, assign responsibilities, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality submissions.
  • Maintain quality assurance standards for all business development and marketing materials.
  • Oversee the maintenance of corporate marketing collateral, project profiles, resumes, and other business development resources.
Client Relationship Management
  • Develop strategies to strengthen client relationships and improve client satisfaction.
  • Monitor client engagement and identify opportunities for repeat business and strategic partnerships.
  • Maintain business development pipelines, pursuit tracking, and client relationship management systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure successful client engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the business development and marketing team.
  • Foster collaboration between marketing, operations, and technical staff to support successful project pursuits.
  • Prepare business development forecasts and reports to support organizational planning and resource allocation.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on market conditions, business opportunities, and growth initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in business development, marketing, or client services, preferably within the engineering, environmental consulting, architecture, construction, or professional services industry.
  • Demonstrated success leading business development strategies that result in revenue growth and expanded market share.
  • Experience managing complex proposals, presentations, and client pursuits.
  • Strong understanding of government contracting and public-sector procurement processes is preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree (MBA) preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) or other marketing/business development certifications are a plus.
  • Active involvement in relevant professional organizations and industry associations.
