Job Summary

The Production Manager oversees the safe, reliable, and cost-effective daily operations of the plant. This leader ensures production runs smoothly, equipment remains dependable, and all work is performed in alignment with safety, environmental, and quality expectations. The role directs plant operations teams including Shift Supervisors, Operators, and Maintenance personnel while driving continuous improvement, operational discipline, and strong cross-department collaboration.


The ideal candidate brings a steady, solutions-driven leadership style, strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes, and a commitment to building a high-performing team. They thrive in a hands-on environment, communicate clearly across departments, and balance safety, quality, and production priorities with sound judgment. Someone who can anticipate operational needs, strengthen reliability, and maintain a culture of accountability will excel in this role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily plant operations with a strong focus on safety, environmental compliance, and operational integrity.
  • Champion a proactive safety culture and ensure adherence to all regulatory, PSM, and internal safety requirements.
  • Oversee production activities, equipment reliability, and maintenance execution to support consistent, efficient output.
  • Partner with engineering, maintenance, planning, and customer service to align production schedules with customer needs and process constraints.
  • Guide maintenance efforts across preventive, predictive, and corrective work to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team across operations and maintenance functions.
  • Ensure proper staffing, onboarding, training, and competency development for all plant roles.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments, vendors, and service partners.
  • Uphold quality standards, investigate deviations, and support corrective actions to maintain audit readiness and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage operating budgets, monitor KPIs, and support long-term site planning and capital projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, cost control, efficiency, and production performance.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of experience in chemical, or petrochemical manufacturing, including 3–5 years in a plant leadership role.
  • Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment reliability, and maintenance best practices.
  • Solid knowledge of PSM, OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and chemical safety.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Experience with ISO-9000/14000 is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an industrial environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and mechanical equipment.
