Location: Race Brook School, 107 Grannis Road, Orange, CT
The Orange Elementary School District (PreK - 6) is seeking a passionate and innovative Library Media Specialist to foster creativity, integrate technology, promote literature appreciation, and support digital citizenship in an engaging elementary school library environment with a fixed class schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Creativity & Innovation
  • Design engaging library lessons that inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning.

Technology Integration
  • Incorporate digital tools and emerging technologies into library instruction.
  • Support students and teachers in using technology for research, collaboration, and creative projects.
  • Manage and promote digital resources, including eBooks, databases, and online learning tools.

Literature Appreciation & Reading Engagement
  • Curate a diverse and inclusive collection that supports reading for pleasure and academic growth.
  • Promote literacy through book talks, author visits, reading challenges, and storytelling.
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate literature into classroom curriculum.

Digital Citizenship & Information Literacy
