About Bremen Hospital
Community Hospital of Bremen is a 24-bed critical access hospital serving Bremen, Indiana, and the surrounding communities in Marshall and St. Joseph counties. As part of Beacon Health System, patients have access to providers, resources and services from across the entire health system. The hospital provides the community with: Emergency Department; diagnostic imaging and lab; radiology, including MRI, CT and ultrasound; general surgery; obstetrics; sleep lab; mammography; physical and occupational therapy; occupational health; swing bed services; and infusion therapy.
What You'll Do
As a Radiology Tech, you will report to the Imaging Supervisor, the Staff Radiologic Technologist performs general radiology procedures and other related functions in the daily operation of the Radiology Department. The Radiologic Technologist is also under the direction of physicians and administrator.
Radiology Tech Job Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain radiology and office equipment, ensuring proper functionality, service coordination, and adherence to department standards.
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including general radiography, fluoroscopic, portable, and C-arm exams, while ensuring high-quality patient care and image accuracy.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, including positioning, transportation, exam education, and administration support for contrast studies.
  • Recognize potential contrast media reactions and take appropriate corrective action in accordance with established protocols.
  • Cross-train and maintain competency in at least one additional imaging modality, such as CT, Mammography, or Ultrasound.
  • Manage patient scheduling, exam orders, documentation, record maintenance, report distribution, and image/CD release in compliance with departmental procedures.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, emergency department physicians, and clinical staff to support efficient patient care and departmental operations.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives and contribute recommendations to enhance workflow, quality, and patient experience.
  • Maintain required certifications, continuing education credits, and professional competencies in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Adhere to all safety, infection prevention, regulatory, and organizational policies, including the use of appropriate protective equipment and patient care standards.
  • Attend required meetings, training programs, and competency assessments while remaining flexible to work varying schedules, additional shifts, and overtime as needed.

What You Bring
As a Radiology Tech, you must demonstrate expertise in radiographic imaging procedures, including the safe operation of radiation-emitting equipment and the accurate positioning of patients to ensure high-quality diagnostic images. You must utilize strong analytical skills to assess image quality and make appropriate procedural judgments while adhering to established clinical standards. You must maintain effective verbal and written communication skills to follow instructions, collaborate with healthcare teams, and provide exceptional patient care. You must complete and maintains competency in a secondary imaging modality, such as CT, Ultrasound, Mammography, or MRI. You will ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, hospital policies, ethical standards, and patient privacy requirements. You must participate in required annual training, educational programs, and policy reviews to maintain professional competence and support organizational goals.
Required Qualifications
  • The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through high school diploma or equivalent and/or graduation from an approved school of radiology technology with subsequent registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and certification by the State Board of Health.
  • Technologists licensed after 1984, must be a graduate of the American Medical Association of Radiological Technology.
  • Previous experience as a staff technologist is preferred.
  • Must have or able to obtain Indiana Radiological Technologist license.
