Job description

Position: Mechanical Test Engineer

Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)

What You will Do:

  • Test Design & Planning:ย Create, review, and maintain detailed testing procedures, protocols, and Acceptance Criteria (FAT/Qualification tests) based on ISO 14310 and API 5CT/5C5 standards.
  • Validation Testing:ย Conduct and oversee destructive and non-destructive tests, including high-pressure gas testing (nitrogen), thermal cycling, and structural performance tests for casing connections.
  • Design Interaction:ย Collaborate with the design team to review engineering documents, ensuring designs are optimized for testing and field performance.
  • Troubleshooting & Analysis:ย Investigate equipment failures, analyze test data, and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify improvements in product design or testing procedures.
  • Documentation:ย Maintain rigorous documentation of all testing procedures, results, and calibration certificates, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:ย Work with R&D, manufacturing, and QA teams to validate product design and ensure high-quality, reliable products.ย 


What You Will Bring:

  • Education:ย Bachelorโ€™s degree inย Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:ย 5-10 years of experience in testing mechanical systems in the Oil & Gas industry, specifically with tubing, or premium connections.
  • Standards Knowledge:ย Strong understanding of API 5CT, API 5C5, and ISO 14310 standards.
  • Technical Skills:ย Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) and experience with data acquisition systems and pressure testing equipment.
  • Certifications:ย Proven experience and, ideally, official certification in V0, V1, and V2 testing protocols.ย 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in high-pressure/high-temperatureย (HP/HT) testing environments.
  • Knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for supporting connection design validation.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS).ย
