Bring Buildings to Life

Our client is seeking experienced Mechanical Project Managers and Senior Mechanical Project Managers to lead complex commercial, industrial, and mission-critical construction projects in Central Virginia.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of major mechanical construction projects, work closely with field leadership and customers, and see your planning and leadership bring projects to life from the early estimating and procurement stages through final completion.

For more than 50 years, this established mechanical contractor has provided construction, installation, service, repair, industrial refrigeration, special projects, and manufacturing solutions to commercial and industrial customers.

Qualified candidates who live outside the Richmond area may be eligible for relocation assistance.

What You Will Do

  • Manage mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Review and manage equipment, material, and subcontractor estimates
  • Handle purchasing and release of non-commodity materials and equipment
  • Oversee submittals, operations and maintenance documentation, and project closeout
  • Develop initial project schedules and monitor project progress
  • Prepare, negotiate, and price change orders
  • Submit RFIs and evaluate responses for cost, schedule, and scope impacts
  • Coordinate project information with the Construction Manager, Superintendent, Fabrication Division, and Start-up Supervisor
  • Collaborate with Virtual Construction and detailing teams
  • Coordinate with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, vendors, and internal departments
  • Monitor project costs, forecasting, resource coordination, and overall financial performance
  • Identify risks and resolve issues before they affect project delivery

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience managing commercial, heavy industrial, mission-critical, or complex mechanical construction projects
  • Experience managing projects with a duration of one year or longer
  • Strong understanding of mechanical construction, equipment, materials, drawings, specifications, codes, and installation methods
  • Experience with estimating, procurement, submittals, RFIs, change orders, scheduling, and project closeout
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and construction or project management software
  • Knowledge of project accounting, cost forecasting, strategic planning, and resource coordination
  • Professional communication skills and the ability to work diplomatically with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, superintendents, and internal teams
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Construction, Construction Engineering Management, or a related field is preferred

If You Have One or More of These Skills, We Should Talk

If you have experience as a Senior Mechanical Project Manager, Mechanical Project Manager, Project Executive, Construction Manager, Mechanical Estimator, Preconstruction Manager, or Mechanical Project Engineerโ€”and have successfully managed large commercial, industrial, data center, healthcare, manufacturing, industrial refrigeration, or other complex mechanical construction projectsโ€”we would like to talk with you.
