Our client, a well-established mechanical insulation contractor, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Indianapolis, Indiana branch.
In this role, you'll be responsible for developing customer relationships, identifying and securing new opportunities, estimating mechanical insulation projects, and managing work from bid through closeout. You'll partner with mechanical contractors, general contractors, owners, and key industry contacts to grow the branch's presence throughout the greater Indianapolis market while delivering projects safely, on schedule, and profitably.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in commercial and industrial mechanical insulation who enjoys combining business development with project management. You'll be active in the field-meeting with customers, visiting jobsites, reviewing plans and specifications, preparing estimates and proposals, and serving as the primary point of contact throughout each project's lifecycle. Projects range from maintenance and retrofit work to large commercial and industrial mechanical insulation installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with mechanical contractors, general contractors, owners, and key industry contacts
  • Grow existing and new accounts throughout Central Indiana and the surrounding region
  • Meet clients through site visits, industry events, and ongoing relationship management
  • Identify opportunities early and develop strategies to win profitable work
  • Serve as the primary client contact throughout the lifecycle of each project
  • Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop estimates for mechanical insulation scopes
  • Prepare proposals, budgets, schedules, and bid submissions
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and participate in project pursuit strategy
  • Manage projects from award through closeout
  • Coordinate with branch leadership, superintendents, field teams, and support staff
  • Track labor productivity, budgets, revenue, and project margins
  • Manage change orders, billing coordination, forecasting, and project reporting
  • Support material procurement and project schedules
  • Ensure projects are executed safely, profitably, and in alignment with client expectations
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical insulation
  • Proven experience estimating, bidding, and managing mechanical insulation projects
  • Experience managing commercial and/or industrial construction projects from estimate through completion
  • Demonstrated success developing and maintaining customer relationships and generating new business
  • Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
  • Strong understanding of project financials, labor productivity, scheduling, and job cost control
  • Experience managing project execution in the field, including coordination with contractors, field teams, and customers
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory and spend time in the field with customers and project teams
Compensation: Competitive base salary plus a lucrative performance-based Field Profit Incentive with significant earning potential.
Location: Greenwood, IN
Territory: Greater Indianapolis area; local travel.
