Loadpath, LLC part of the Redwire Space Missions team in Albuquerque, NM are innovating space mechanisms, multi-payload launch adapters, structural testing, deployable composite booms, deployable space structures, R amp;D engineering, spacecraft thermal management components, and thermal analysis. We have a current opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Intern. We’re looking for a college student who is currently working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or similar (Bachelor’s, or Master’s), to help participate in developing breakthrough manufacturing technologies for space and terrestrial spin-offs.
We will provide you with an 8-week internship (we may modify the time frame based on your availability) during which you will be performing hands-on meaningful projects aligned with our company goals and objectives. This opportunity will fully immerse you in our technology and culture for an invaluable and rewarding experience. Responsibilities:
  • Function as our SolidWorks PDM librarian
  • Create in SolidWorks and then import into PDM many COTS fasteners and other common components
  • Adhere to all company CAD workflows and approvals
  • Work on various project tasks under direction of senior engineering staff and mentors in Structures and Mechanisms
  • Operate our 3D printers in support of business development
  • Apply engineering principles in areas of design, manufacturing, and test
  • Generate technical documentation, reporting and presentations of design, test, and analysis results following company format
  • Operate in a professional and courteous manor
  • You should expect to learn and grow every day as part of our team
Ideal Experience
  • Currently enrolled in a nationally accredited University or College, pursuing either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the disciplines noted above. As part of our selection criteria, we will also be considering any formal training, lab work, research papers compiled, any prior work in co-ops, internships, and any related work experience.
  • Competent with 3D CAD modeling using SolidWorks
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance
  • Must be US Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR regulations
