Job description

About the Company

Olea Kiosks® is a leading provider of self-service kiosk solutions, delivering innovative hardware and software systems across industries such as healthcare, retail, and financial services. We specialize in designing and manufacturing high-quality, custom kiosk enclosures that combine durability, functionality, and modern design. With a strong focus on engineering excellence and manufacturability, Olea brings concepts to life through precision-driven mechanical engineering and advanced fabrication processes.

About the Role

Olea is seeking a Design Engineer with strong SolidWorks experience and expertise in sheet metal design to join our Engineering team in Cerritos, CA. In this role, you will take ownership of transforming product concepts into fully detailed, production-ready designs using SolidWorks and 3D CAD modeling tools.

You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to develop mechanical designs optimized for manufacturability (DFM), ensuring that every product meets performance, cost, and production requirements. This is an ideal opportunity for a mechanical design engineer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has hands-on experience with sheet metal fabrication, CNC processes, and enclosure design.

What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate with Sales and Design teams to define product requirements, including form, function, and environmental considerations
  • Translate concepts into detailed sheet metal designs using SolidWorks Pro
  • Build complete 3D models, including subassemblies, fasteners, and integrated components
  • Produce fabrication-ready documentation such as technical drawings, weldment guides, and CNC files
  • Update and improve legacy designs for accuracy and manufacturability
  • Estimate design timelines and communicate progress to project stakeholders
  • Manage product configurations within SolidWorks PDM Pro
  • Support manufacturing by providing design clarifications and DFM improvements
  • Incorporate shop feedback to optimize production processes
Why This Role Matters

This role is critical to bridging concept and production. Your designs directly impact product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and customer satisfaction. By ensuring designs are both innovative and practical, you help Olea deliver reliable, high-performing kiosk solutions at scale.

Why You’ll Love Working at Olea

At Olea, you’ll work alongside a collaborative, forward-thinking team that values precision, creativity, and continuous improvement. We offer an environment where your ideas are heard, your expertise is valued, and your growth is supported. From concept to production, you’ll see your work come to life in real-world applications used by customers nationwide.

Compensation & Schedule
  • Status: Full-Time, Exempt
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, typically between 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Location: On-site at our Cerritos, CA facility
  • Starting Pay: $90,000 per year
Ready to Apply?

If you’re passionate about designing high-quality, manufacturable products and want to make a tangible impact, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and help shape the future of self-service solutions at Olea.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of professional experience using SolidWorks Pro
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM Pro and Microsoft Office Suite
  • ERP system experience (e.g., ABAS or similar) preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and design-thinking skills
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills

In addition to the requirements listed above, the following knowledge, skills, and abilities are preferred, but not required:

  • Expertise in sheet metal design principles (bend radii, k-factors, press brake limits)
  • Knowledge of welding methods, symbols, and fabrication processes
  • Familiarity with materials such as steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
