Position Overview

The C&S Facilities Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer / Managing Engineer to join our team in our Syracuse or Rochester office. This is a great opportunity for an individual to help grow our facilities practice. This individual will be responsible for leading projects, performing, and managing technical engineering. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for delivery of mechanical engineering services in a multitude of markets including healthcare, higher education, government, aviation, food service, hospitality, and industrial projects in the Southeastern United States. Successful candidates should have experience and/or education in mechanical design for buildings and facilities. This position includes an emphasis on HVAC design (Commercial, Food Service, Industrial); previous field experience is a plus.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience including skills in mechanical design of HVAC systems
    • A Professional Engineering license is highly desired
  • Project Management experience desired
  • Serves as lead mechanical engineer on projects and/or works in the responsible charge of a licensed mechanical engineer
  • Performs mechanical engineering calculations, edits specifications, and prepares design drawings
  • Ability to perform Cooling/Heating calculations, Ventilation Calculations, ASHRAE 15 verification
  • Familiarity with CHW VAV systems, VRF Systems, DOAS Equipment, Energy Recovery Equipment
  • Familiarity with building codes and engineering design requirements
  • Assists in developing project mechanical requirements, conducting field surveys, and developing construction documents
  • Develop HVAC controls schematics, sequences of operation, and points lists
  • Experience with renovation projects
  • Coordinates with the other design disciplines in the delivery of mechanical designs
  • Performs services during construction including responding to RFI's, reviewing submittals, and performing field observations
  • Experience with Revit highly desired
  • Beneficial prior project experience on healthcare, higher education, government, aviation, food service, hospitality, and/or industrial projects
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and works well in team environment
  • Occasional travel as a part of project delivery will be required

Estimated Compensation Range: $100,000-150,000/year*

*Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
