What You Will Do

Pratt & Whitney Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) team is looking for an experienced Project Engineering professional with the ability to work independently. Supports the development of project plans, schedules and budgets, tracks progress, resolves problems, develops solutions, and forecasts project revenue. Coordinates with other functional organizations. Identifies and addresses project problems, analyzes data gathered, and develops solutions and recommendations to solve problems, meet deadlines and optimize performance.

  • Develops project plans, schedules and budget.

  • Tracks progress, identifies and resolves obstacles to minimize disruption to project schedules to ensure smooth project operations.

  • Prepare and present status and technical content to CIPT and upper Pratt & Whitney management.

  • Analyzes data gathered and develops solutions or alternative methods of proceeding to optimize performance and increase efficiency of work.

  •  Work closely with IPT members and authorities on hardware field investigations to drive root cause and recommend product improvements

  •  Lead Class 1 and Class 2 engineering change execution

  • Maintains and presents plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project(s) to track progress and ensure that established targets are met.  Performs risks assessments and develop mitigation plan as needed.  

  • Identifies and addresses project problems and recommends resolutions to ensure the successful completion of projects.

  • Facilitates project tasks with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.

  • Support military budget EVMS activities & actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement using ACE tools and support AS9100 efforts.

  • Attend and have participation in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training required.

  • Based on business needs, the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company & support project management activities.

  • Travel is up to 10%

  • English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

  • 5 years of engineering experience or an Advanced degree with 3 years of engineering experience

  • 3 years of project management experience

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Advanced Engineering degree or MBA

  • Minor in Project Management or in Aerospace

  • Experience working in the Aerospace Industry with jet engine experience

  • Previous gas turbine compressor experience

  • Experience with MS Office, Teamcenter, SAP, MS Project or other scheduling software

  • Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.
