Job description

Summary

A growing commercial mechanical contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support large HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical construction projects. This position works closely with Project Managers and field leadership while gaining hands-on exposure to project financials, scheduling, procurement, coordination, and client management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Managers with day-to-day execution of commercial mechanical projects
  • Support project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Assist with procurement of equipment, materials, and subcontracted scopes
  • Track project schedules, milestones, and delivery requirements
  • Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and general contractors
  • Participate in owner, contractor, and internal project meetings
  • Review drawings and specifications and assist with resolving coordination issues
  • Track labor, materials, equipment, and project costs
  • Assist with billing, change management, and project closeout
  • Develop knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical construction systems
  • Take on increasing project ownership as experience and capabilities develop
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of construction experience preferred
  • Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, or Assistant Project Manager experience
  • Mechanical contractor experience preferred but strong MEP construction exposure may be considered
  • Healthcare construction experience is highly desirable
  • Data center, mission-critical, commercial, or other complex project experience is a plus
  • Exposure to budgets, schedules, RFIs, submittals, procurement, and change orders
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
  • Collaborative, accountable, and solutions-oriented approach
