Job Summary:
The Application Engineer will provide design assistance, cost savings solutions, and problem resolution to our customers. In addition, this role helps us grow our sales organically by gaining new part business at existing customers. The application engineer also provides profit growth through partnering with our sourcing team in finding lower cost solutions for our customers.
We are seeking a talented engineer to join our team. The Application Engineer is responsible for the following:
Responsibilities:
  • Provide engineering services to the customer including but not limited to cost savings projects, training, consolidation and standardization, design assistance, etc.
  • Support branches and sales with technical consulting, print reviews, quotation assistance etc.
  • Work with the customer product development groups group to initiate, develop and implement new part sales opportunities.
  • Work with our materials department to help avoid line-down issues and submit customer deviations to support these efforts.
  • Work with sourcing and suppliers to implement new parts, new suppliers, and specification changes, for assigned customers
  • Assist our quality department to resolve product application issues and assist with initial sample submission review questions

Must Haves:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical preferred)
  • Minimum of five years of experience in engineering manufactured products.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills, exceptional calendar management, effective listening skills, high levels of presentation skills, and be able to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  • Must possess the ability to read and understand mechanical part prints, including geometric tolerancing and all aspects of print requirements.
  • Must possess project management skills with the ability to lead projects to completion within established timelines and budgets.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 50%.

WE Value:
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft 365 Dynamics, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Power BI (or a comparable business intelligence and data visualization tool).
  • Experience with the fastener industry or designing with fasteners is a plus, previous manufactured industrial goods experience is also ideal
  • Mechanical component product knowledge including manufacturing process for those components.
  • Customer facing experience
