JOB DESCRIPTION:
To provide quality instruction as a substitute for Career and Technical Education Courses. Seeking content specialists interested in teaching HVAC/R, CDL-B, Electrical, Residential Construction, Welding, Machining, Small Engine Repair, Forklift, Nurse Assisting, Phlebotomy, Dental Assisting.
To provide quality instruction for post-secondary/adult Career Training Courses. Seeking content specialists interested in teaching courses in construction, manufacturing, transportation, and healthcare.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
  • Prepare syllabus and daily lesson plans and hands-on projects for the practical application of the curriculum.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and student progress.
  • Provide individual and group instruction in the implementation of the curriculum.
  • Prepare pre/post-tests and performance evaluations for students at the completion of each unit.
  • Order student textbooks, supplies, materials, and equipment necessary for the implementation for the job training program.
  • Effective supervision of students.
  • Maintain and modify curriculum to remain current and up to date.
  • Maintain all safety standards as mandated by OSHA and the BOCES 2 organization.
  • Monitor employment tracking of students.
  • Consistent and effective program recruitment.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: 2-5 years current experience working in industry taught; Strong knowledge of the content area; Teaching experience preferred but not necessarily required
Other: Must be able to use computers for attendance, grade management, email, and other applications necessary to fulfill the requirement of the position.
