About the Employer
We are a commercial/industrial HVAC service provider with deep legacy and technical capability. Through SkillBridge, we are offering transitioning service members a hands-on technician role with guided learning and the potential for being hired full time.
With over five decades of knowledge and experience in the industry we are experts in HVAC installation, service, and maintenance for commercial/industrial facilities including, but not limited to, manufacturing, hospitality, clean room labs, office and retail. Specializing in design-build, design-assist, and partnered/financially driven design processes, they provide customers with high efficiency and best value facility mechanical and environmental systems such as precision manufacturing processes, environmental conditioning and geothermal heating/cooling.
Position Summary
As a SkillBridge participant, you will perform service and maintenance tasks on commercial HVAC systems (RTUs, hydronic systems, forced air, geothermal controls) under supervision. You'll hone diagnostic and hands-on skills while engaging in structured mentorship.
Learning & Mentorship Focus
  • On-the-job training alongside experienced technicians
  • Exposure to advanced systems, diagnostics tools, and controls
  • Opportunity to gain certifications (EPA I & II, OSHA, controls)
  • Mentor/technician coaching, progress feedback, and skill development

Key Training Areas
  • Assist in service, troubleshooting, and maintenance of commercial/industrial HVAC systems (RTUs, hydronic heating, forced-air, etc.)
  • Under supervision, perform repair, replacement, and preventive maintenance tasks
  • Participate in control systems diagnostics, refrigeration piping, and specialty system work
  • Work with senior technicians to learn industry-recognized testing and certification tasks
  • Help maintain documentation of service calls, parts usage, and job reports
  • Adhere to safety practices, compliance, and environmental standards

The Ideal Candidate
  • Transitioning service member with 2-4 years of hands-on mechanical or technical training (aviation maintenance, vehicle repair, electrical, utilities, engineering, or similar).
  • Previous experience troubleshooting and maintaining equipment preferred but not required.
  • Mechanical aptitude - enjoys working with tools, equipment, and systems.
  • Familiarity with safety practices and preventive maintenance.
  • Willingness to earn EPA I & II certification and OSHA-10 during or after the program.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to learning.
  • Hands-on learner who thrives in field environments.
  • Team-oriented but able to work independently when needed.
  • Comfortable in varied working conditions (outdoors, heights, confined spaces).
  • Motivated to grow into a skilled trade career with advancement opportunities.

Upon successful completion, candidates may be offered full-time roles with:
