Position Summary: Wraps and displays quality meat department products while providing standard customer service.

 

Job duties:

- Greets customers when within ten feet and four seconds of contact.

- Stocks and rotates meat items, to maintain freshness and quality, removes damaged items from cases

-Packs meat products on trays, then forwards to wrapping

- Operates wrapping machine, checks it for working order, maintains price integrity

- Completes basic cleaning of department, by washing and sanitizing work tools and area

- Performs other related duties as needed as assigned by manager


Capabilities:

- Stand for long periods of time, very frequent walking back and forth from meat/seafood warehouse to floor

- Carry up to 50 pounds, push and pull up to 1000 pounds, frequent motions with arms/hands to display products

- Use of proper safety procedures

- Able to listen to directions and follow through independently

- Have good communication and observation skills

- Able to work with a team and independently when needed


Job Skills:

- Previous experience working with the public

- Knowledge of when to pull meat if it does not meet standards

- Working knowledge of different seafood types and cuts of meats required

- Able to manage time well


Environment:

- Air condition while in store, 40-50 degrees while working in the meat department, freezer and chill.


Other:

Must be at least 18 years of age to operate machinery
