Job description

Pork Retail Sales Account Representative 
 
Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a Pork Retail Sales Account Representative to support our fresh pork sales in the retail space on our National Pork Sales Team. This person will drive pork retail sales in the North and Lower Midwest Region to achieve revenue targets. In tandem with the team, this person will monitor industry trends and account-specific business strategies to develop effective selling approaches aligned with company initiatives and goals.
 
Our ideal candidate will currently reside in and work from in a home/remote office in the Northern Midwest region (WI, MN, IL, IA, MO) with the ability to travel and cover the surrounding regions: North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Missouri
 
Responsibilities:
·   Prioritize driving fresh pork sales to achieve revenue targets.
·   Monitor pork industry trends and account-specific business strategies to develop effective selling approaches aligned with company initiatives and goals.
·   Leverage product knowledge and market insights to generate new sales opportunities.
·   Identify customer needs and tailor new products and programs to meet their specific account objectives.
·   Engage with accounts to discuss available programs and product offerings, fostering strong relationships.
·   Stay informed about market conditions and emerging trends to adapt sales strategies accordingly.
·   Regularly update management with market intelligence, including competitive activities and industry developments.
·   Develop new accounts within assigned territories to ensure continuous sales growth.
·   Maintain positive and professional relationships with existing accounts to encourage loyalty and repeat business.
·   Conduct product demonstrations and seminars to showcase the value and benefits of JBS products.
·   Visit customer facilities regularly to stay updated on their processes and procedures that may impact product usage or service.
·   Coordinate with the sales team to ensure on-time deliveries, address product shortages, and provide updates on sales order status via phone communication.
·   Collaborate with pricing and telephone sales teams to establish acceptable trading ranges, bids, offers, and contracts.
·   Keep administrative duties and sales planning up to date to support overall sales effectiveness.
·   Other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications: 
·   Minimum of 5 years in the fresh retail pork sales space required.
·   Experience selling to retail stores in the Midwest and surrounding areas required 
·   Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) preferred, with a major in one of the following fields: Agriculture Business, Meat Science, Business, Marketing, Agricultural Economics, or Animal Science.
·   Strong phone communication skills and the ability to deliver engaging presentations.
·   Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
