Job description


JOB SUMMARY
The QA Technician is responsible for monitoring products and processes to ensure that Creekstone Farms production specifications are met. This includes accurate and timely communicated documentation and audits that adhere to Quality and Food Safety Standards for every product. Other responsibilities may include pre-operation inspection activities and working closely with USDA, FSIS, USDA AMS and all departments within the plant. This individual will work closely with various departments by using a continuous improvement mentality and will work to perpetuate a “Creekstone Proud culture through attitude and actions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitoring, documenting, and communicating plant Quality/HACCP/SSOP/SOG/GMP programs to ensure proper implementation
  • Coordinating with plant personnel, USDA, and contracted sanitation personnel to comply with quality programs
  • Working daily in cold environments (~45 degrees) and warm environments (~85 degrees)
  • Maintain constructive relationships with various levels of personnel in various departments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance Technologies and/or Knowledge of the meat industry
  • 1-3 years’ experience in the meat industry
  • Conflict resolution abilities and strong customer relations
  • Experience working with a diverse group of people
  • Ability to maintain high expectations for self and others, demonstrating a dedication to achievement of results
  • Demonstrated ability to function successfully in a fast paced, changing work environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization
  • Solid problem solving, project management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
  • Detail oriented, organized, reliable and resourceful
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
