Job description

The Fresh Meat Cutter is responsible for preparing high-quality retail cuts of meat according to Stoltzfus Meats standards for product quality, food safety and presentation. This role supports daily meat department production, maintains a clean and organized workspace, and helps ensure customers receive excellent service and fresh, properly prepared products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cut, trim, portion and prepare fresh meat products according to company specifications
  • Grind meat and prepare value-added products as needed
  • Package, label and stock products in display cases
  • Maintain proper production and freshness standards
  • Keep cutting equipment, tools, and work areas clean and sanitized
  • Assist with inventory organization and cooler maintenance
  • Support the Meat Manager with daily production needs
  • Provide friendly and helpful customer service when assisting at the counter
  • Work collaboratively with other market departments as needed.

Qualifications

  • Meat cutting or butcher experience preferred.
  • Grocery store or retail meat department experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of knife, band saw, and meat cutting safety techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and product quality
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated environment
  • Must be at least 18 years old

Physical Requirements
