About the Role:
The Meat Dispatcher provides prompt and courteous service to customers by filling their orders for meat, seafood, and cremeria products. This role stocks and cleans displays, rotates products for freshness, ensures pricing and labeling accuracy, and supports the department’s goals while maintaining Vallarta’s high standards of food safety, sanitation, and honesty.
What You’ll Do:
  • Smile, greet, and assist customers with extraordinary service.
  • Model Vallarta’s core values: customer service, commitment, integrity, respect, humility, and teamwork.
  • Achieve and maintain company standards for merchandising, presentation, signage, inventory, and price integrity.
  • Fill customer orders accurately, package, weigh, and label products with honesty and care.
  • Rotate and stock products in display cases and coolers; maintain freshness and quality.
  • Promote sales through suggestive selling and preparation of marinated meats and vegetables.
  • Maintains cases, counters, and displays clean, organized, and presentable.
  • Ensure compliance with state and company weights, measures, and labeling laws.
  • Monitor case temperatures and report discrepancies to management.
  • Assist with sanitation processes, cleaning work areas and equipment.
  • Work safely, using protective equipment, and report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Treat coworkers and customers respectfully; follow company policies and dress codes.
  • Do not operate equipment without proper training or authorization.
  • Support teamwork by assisting coworkers and communicating with management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
  • Stand and walk constantly (6–8+ hours/day).
  • Frequently bend neck/waist, squat, twist, and reach above/below shoulders.
  • Frequent use of hands for grasping, pulling, pushing, and fine manipulation.
  • Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Heaviest item: 50 lbs., carried up to 100 feet.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other moving equipment.
  • Work near equipment and machinery; exposure to noise, temperature, and humidity changes.
  • No work at heights; no walking on uneven ground.

  • Ability to learn different types of meat, seafood, and cremeria products.
  • Ability to learn product codes and uses.
  • Basic understanding of English language.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, crowded environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Team-oriented, professional, and respectful attitude.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Work Environment:
  • Fast-paced retail meat department with direct customer interaction.
  • Exposure to perishable products, refrigerated coolers, prep areas, and changing conditions.
  • Collaborative, team-focused workplace.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
