Senior Specialist, Production Measurement

Summary
We are seeking a Senior Specialist, Production Measurement to join our team in our Arlington, VA office.
General Description Duties
The Production Measurements Specialist ensures Venture Global's measurement systems operate with maximum accuracy, consistency, and accountability. The role focuses on identifying and mitigating measurement LAUF across pipelines and plants operations to safeguard custody transfer accuracy and commercial integrity.
This position supports both field and corporate teams by conducting detailed balance analyses (LAUF), investigating discrepancies, and driving continuous improvement in data quality and operational performance.
Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed daily, weekly, and monthly mass and energy balance analyses for all measurement systems and work closely with production engineers on the pipeline and plant MEB.
  • Track, quantify, lead investigations and report losses and unaccounted-for gas and liquid (LAUF) across all Venture Global's sites.
  • Develop and refine loss-tracking tools, dashboards, and performance reports.
  • Identify trends, abnormalities, and recurring variances, and recommend actions to reduce systemic loss.
  • Work closely with Production Excellence and Site Operations to reconcile production, rundown, and custody transfer data.
  • Define and maintain acceptable tolerance thresholds based on API MPMS and VG internal standards.
  • Lead root-cause investigations of significant or recurring volume and energy imbalances.
  • Analyze field data, meter diagnostics, and control system trends to identify sources of error.
  • Review calibration, transmitter data for accuracy and compliance.
  • Document findings and develop corrective action plans with clear ownership and timelines.
  • Verify implementation and long-term effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Validate flow computer configurations (Flow-X, etc.) and historian (PI) data for completeness and integrity.
  • Compare and reconcile measured volumes between field data, accounting systems, and process control networks.
  • Review meter factors, calibration reports, and correction coefficients to ensure traceability and consistency.
  • Support automated reconciliation and digital data validation initiatives to improve reporting accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance system accuracy, data quality, and measurement reliability through technology or procedural improvements.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in gas or LNG measurement, pipeline operations, or custody transfer systems.
  • Working knowledge of API MPMS, AGA, and GPA standards.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with flow computers (Flow-X preferred), SCADA, and historian systems (OSI PI).
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and reconciliation tools; SQL or Python a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills with the ability to present complex findings clearly.

Salary Range
$110,000 - $140,000
