Associate – Complex Commercial Litigation

Direct Counsel represents a well-regarded Am Law firm seeking a litigation associate to join its Complex Commercial Litigation practice. The team is known for its deep trial bench, including numerous former federal prosecutors, and a strong track record of successfully taking high-stakes cases to trial and arbitration.

The practice handles a broad range of sophisticated disputes, including business torts, contract and joint venture matters, fraud, unfair competition, consumer protection claims, insolvency, insurance coverage, and trade secrets litigation across industries such as financial services, technology, energy, and life sciences.

About the Role:
This position focuses on high-impact litigation, including multidistrict litigation (MDL) and consumer class actions. The team takes a strategic, business-oriented approach to litigation, leveraging early resolution strategies alongside trial readiness to achieve optimal client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support MDL and consumer class action matters
  • Conduct legal research, draft motions, and support case strategy
  • Participate in discovery, depositions, and case development
  • Collaborate with trial teams on complex, high-stakes disputes

Qualifications:

  • J.D. with strong academic credentials
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in complex litigation, including MDL and/or consumer class actions
  • Strong writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
  • Admission to a U.S. Bar or eligibility for admission
