Job description

The School of Optometry seeks Adjunct Faculty to provide academic support for optometry students enrolled in laboratory courses and clinical rotations. The faculty member works collaboratively with faculty colleagues in the School of Optometry. The successful candidate will assist in teaching laboratory and clinical skills in the Optometry Theory & Methods laboratory course, the Primary and Specialty Care Clinic course and in the Clinical Externship II course, which are all held in the Fall Semester of the OD curriculum. The position is subject to student course evaluations and annual performance reviews. The successful candidate will:
  • Deliver in-person laboratory and clinical skill instruction, and tutoring in the School of Optometry
  • Maintain advanced knowledge in discipline and areas of expertise
  • Advise and assist students through scheduled appointments, after hours and on weekends

Required:
  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree required from an ACOE-accredited institution
  • Licensed to practice as an O.D. in Massachusetts
  • Commitment to graduate and/or professional education and student success
  • Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with students, faculty, and staff
