Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Business Analyst.
In this role, the successful candidate as the Business Analyst will collaborate with Payroll, MCIT, and Human Resources teams to ensure that UKG Pro and Finance Salesforce technology enhancements and upgrades are optimized to meet the needs of all employees across the organization. The Business Analyst develops and administers various training programs to promote the best practices and compliance with institutional policies as it relates to the enterprise timekeeping application, UKG Pro. Additionally, the Business Analyst supports the documentation, testing and training of Finance Salesforce enhancements for the UKG Training and Support Helpdesk and Finance Helpdesk.
The Business Analyst will identify opportunities to improve existing policies and procedures, and business processes. Assists with administration of and participates in continuous improvement activities. Assists with developing and executing test scripts. Analyze the end-user impact of all change requests or enhancements. Identify opportunities across NYU Langone Healths business and departments and implement process or procedural improvements to create efficiency and high end-user satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities:

Data Analysis

  • Conduct data analyses using UKG Pro, Finance Salesforce, PeopleSoft, Tableau, Excel, and other available reporting tools to identify trends, recurring issues, process gaps, system compliance concerns, and opportunities for improvement. Analysis may include timekeeping and payroll-related data, system ticket trends, enhancement requests, testing results, training participation, end-user adoption, productivity metrics, and department-level adherence to Finance timekeeping policies and procedures.
  • Monitor UKG system compliance in relation to Finance timekeeping policies and procedures, including review of timekeeping activity, recurring exceptions, punch edits, manager or timekeeper actions, and other system usage trends that may indicate training needs, process gaps, or non-compliance with established standards.
  • Provide recommendations based on data findings to support process improvement, identify training needs, improve end-user support, reduce recurring system or process issues, strengthen compliance with Finance timekeeping policies and procedures, and inform leadership decision-making.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze operational reports and dashboards related to UKG Pro and Finance Salesforce support activities, including ticket volume, issue trends, project status, testing outcomes, training completion, communication/adoption metrics, and department-level process compliance.
  • Prepare reporting and analytics for Finance leadership, Payroll, HR, MCIT, and project stakeholders to monitor progress, identify risks, prioritize enhancements, evaluate process effectiveness, assess adherence to Finance timekeeping standards, and support business decisions.

Project Management

  • Manage multiple system, process improvement, training, testing, reporting, compliance monitoring, and change management initiatives related to UKG Pro and Finance Salesforce.
  • Support projects related to system enhancements, defect resolution, upgrade readiness, user acceptance testing, policy and procedure updates, training development, communication planning, reporting improvements, end-user support initiatives, and compliance with Finance timekeeping policies and procedures.
  • Track project tasks, document open items, coordinate with Payroll, HR, MCIT, Finance leadership, and operational stakeholders, and provide timely updates on project progress.
  • Facilitate status meetings, monitor timelines and deliverables, escalate risks or barriers, and ensure project documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Document defects, enhancements, requests, compliance concerns, and process improvement opportunities for UKG Pro and Finance Salesforce, including business requirements, testing outcomes, end-user impact, policy/procedure considerations, and recommended next steps.

Change management-

  • Create and deliver engaging PowerPoint presentations for leadership, effectively communicating key insights, project updates, and strategic recommendations.
  • Assist in developing and executing financial system test scripts for UKG Pro and Finance-Salesforce
  • Collaborate with Payroll and IT teams to document and evaluate test results.
  • Analyze the end-user impact of all change requests or enhancements.
  • Develop, review, document, and update policies and procedures related to financial activities.
  • Identify training and development needs through job analysis, research, and consultation with finance management and end users.
  • Work with teams to produce appropriate and effective training programs for all relevant parties in the division.
  • Engage and document thoroughly and accurately in-bound correspondence in Salesforce.
  • Assist Senior Business Analyst with creating and distributing end-user communications related to UKG Pro and Finance-Salesforce.
  • Administer and assist with training initiatives.

Content Creation

  • Design, develop, and modify training programs, including video courses.
  • Amend and revise programs as necessary to adapt to changes in the work environment.
  • Create and compile training materials and manuals.

Perform all other duties or special projects as assigned.

Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
Ensure end-user service both internally and externally. Communicate clearly and concisely with end users promptly. Organize tasks to assign appropriate resources and provide information. Demonstrate initiative to improve services and processes to end users. Demonstrate creative thinking for developing solutions. Manage
multiple tasks and projects. Respect and maintain the confidentiality of all financial information within NYULH. Demonstrate trustworthiness and integrity both to staff and end users. Facilitate a team atmosphere within Finance and respective departments. Cooperate and communicate effectively and harmoniously with administration, peers, general staff, and other NYULH personnel, both courteously and professionally.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration or Management. Education experience with respect to computer applications and or computer science is a plus, but not required.
A minimum of 2 years of work experience in business process analysis, financial or data analysis or related tasks. The candidate must have analytical and computer skills to support the analysis, documentation and recommendations for improvements of processes across the finance enterprise. The Business Analyst should have solid communication skills that enable the individual to perform interviews with individuals, gather and interpret information as well as convey messages and findings concisely to relevant parties throughout the organization. The individual must be detail oriented and able to work independently and within a team on multiple projects simultaneously. Other minimum qualifications include intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel, Word and Visio. Experience with PeopleSoft Query and Alteryx/Tableau is desired, but not required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with UKG Pro Workforce Management, Salesforce, Tableau, PeopleSoft, and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Required Skills: Advanced Excel skills, Experience in content creation, Proficiency in Camtasia, Audiate, Articulate 360, or equivalent software
